Toyota PH gets approval for a 5.0L V8; is this for Lexus LC 500 Final?
After getting approval from the LTO earlier this year, the Lexus LC 500 Final could finally be revealed

Earlier this year, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released homologation documents about a yet-to-be-launched vehicle for the Philippine market. That vehicle is the Lexus LC 500 5.0 V8 AT Final.
While Lexus Philippines has yet to officially confirm the LC 500 bowing out, official dealer letters in the US have already confirmed the inevitable; 2026 will be the final year of the Lexus LC. With that, the V8-powered halo car will soon be consigned to the history books.
Lexus Philippines has yet to officially launch or reveal the LC 500 Final, but based on a recent regulatory approval, we might not have to wait long. Recently, Lexus Philippines' parent company, Toyota Motor Philippines, received approval for an upcoming passenger vehicle that's powered by a 4969cc gasoline engine.

Based on its engine size, the 4969cc engine translates to a displacement of 5.0L, which is the same engine that powers the LC 500. If you want to be more specific, it's the 2UR-GSE 5.0L naturally aspirated V8, which puts out 477 PS and 540 Nm of torque in the LC 500. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
With Toyota PH getting approval for a new 5.0L V8 engine, it looks like we can expect the Lexus LC 500 Final Edition to be revealed later this year. Since it's going to be the swan song for the Lexus LC, expect it to be available in small numbers for those who are lucky enough to get one.
